Gianpiero Cangelosi was born in Sicily and spent his early career traveling and experiencing Europe to hone his skills as a restaurateur before eventually coming to the United States of America in the ’80s to share his experience with the American customer base.

Gianpiero and Karen Cangelosi founded Capriccio Ristorante in 1987, in the Plaza that carries the same name. Starting with just one dining room, a second one quickly became necessary due to its instant success. As the years passed by, the restaurant felt the need to grow alongside its customer base.

In 1995, a beautiful lounge was added, built around its focal point: a 6’5” chandelier hoisted in the center of the room. That way, the goal of establishing an atmosphere for drinks and dancing before and after dinner was accomplished. Most recently, a private dining room was also added. It combines the familiar feeling of the main dining room with a touch of privacy that makes it perfect for celebrations and private events.

Capriccio’s has been made famous not only for its incredible Italian cuisine but also for its nightly live entertainment. Nowhere else in South Florida can you find a place that mixes this level of food quality with the entertainment value added by the music given out in large quantities.

We also provide our experience and services as catering for Pembroke Pines & Southwest Ranches. Intimate weddings, birthday parties, retirement parties, baby and bridal showers, corporate events, luncheons, rehearsal dinners and family reunions, here at Capriccio’s all events are special occasions.

You can choose one of our pre-set menus, or we can custom tailor a menu to suit your budget and needs. We have since opened a second restaurant in the family community of Weston. Located in the Weston Town Center, our new venture Tarantella Ristorante e Pizzeria charms the west Broward crowds. At Tarantella, we serve a full Italian menu as well as some of the best brick oven pizzas in the United States.We have also now just opened our new concept—Capriccio Eatery— which is located adjacent to the restaurant. It offers a bakery, Italian gelato, pizza, paninis, and baked pasta. It also has a banquet room for parties of 60 to 130 people, so we can provide you and your event with the best possible conditions.
